It’s been said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, if you have to steal someone’s idea – especially one of ours – We’re not gonna be flattered and you may end up getting flattened instead. There’s a reason for our hostility on this matter.

Let’s see if we can break it down for you.

1 – What Part of ‘Original Design’ Did You Not Understand?

When it comes to design work and any brand development, the smart kids all go to the place where the ideas are fresh, new and original. If you are in the market for some super-duper design elements to liven up your brand, it’s gonna cost you. But you actually control what kind of value that will be. If you truly desire something snappy and never been seen before, you are going to have to spend a few bucks to get into that arena.

Original is not cheap. But that’s because it’s that good. Original sets you ahead of the pack where the rest of the cheap imitators don’t go. The other side of the coin is you could just steal my idea and tweak it to your liking. It doesn’t even have to be my idea. Just go ahead and take somebody’s idea. Flip it upside down, change a couple of colors and call it your own. Yup, that’s gonna cost you sooner or later as well. Just make sure the one phone call you get from the inside is not to us.

2 – Borrowing For Inspiration Is Not The Same As Stealing

Okay, we get it. Not everyone gets the science behind design and what it takes to develop a brand. But you could always just sit in the same room as us and use us as a sounding board. We like spitballing ideas. That’s because tons of inspiration comes from that. So, you see a logo or design you like, and you want something kind of like that but not exactly. We like that kind of challenge because it gives us a chance to show you what we’re made of.

Besides, all you are doing is borrowing an idea. It gives us the juice we need to know where on the page you actually are. Trust us, it’s far better to be on the same page as opposed to being in the same book but chapters apart from each other. With something to go on, we can twist and mold that glimmer of an idea into something so original you’ll shake your head, say something cool or amazing and end up with a unique, original brand you can call your own instead of the one you stole and tried to alter yourself.

3 – We Prefer Inspiration To Perspiration

The love of originality is why we invest so much time and energy into research. We don’t want to leave you with a design that is just a couple shades off of something that is already in existence.
