About the event
Intro to Sewing Workshop – This beginner-friendly class teaches students the fundamentals of using a sewing machine. Participants will learn how to thread a machine, practice basic stitching, and gain confidence while completing a take-home project.
About the artist: Susana Guillen is a San Diego based emerging womenswear designer with over 15 years of sewing experience and a background in fashion and education. A San Diego Mesa College graduate, she has presented her collections at Intermoda, Latin America’s largest fashion trade show, InnovaModa and was recognized by Joann Fabrics for her work. She currently teaches sewing classes throughout the San Diego area. Her work centers on a quality-over-quantity philosophy, with a mission to educate the next generation of designers and new sewers on upcycling, responsible shopping, and supporting handmade fashion. Inspired by travel, textiles, and global craftsmanship, Susana’s designs reflect a thoughtful, sustainable approach to contemporary womenswear.
